PWD (Construction) department is mainly deals with the construction & maintenance of roads, buildings, houses, commercial complex, drains, latrines etc. Though this department is not directly provided any kind of services to the citizen but if we consider the infrastructure development of municipal areas then we will find that the role of this department is very high priorable than the other one. This department mainly works on basis of Draft & Annual Development Plans.
One Sub-Assistant Engineer heads this department. Major functions consist of construction and repair of municipal roads, drains, any sort of municipal buildings and others. Three junior SAEs, engaged on contractual basis, are there to look after overall construction works, preparation of measurement books, contractors’ bills and others. This department is also entrusted to carry out overall slum level infrastructure works.
